LAUNCHXL-F28379D: ASCII format of Altium design file

Hi Danilo,

We only have and provide the Altium design files. I believe there are ways to translate the design files for other PCB design tools.

The below is what Altium can export (for PCB layout). If one of these is the correct format you can export it yourself (if you have Altium) or I can try it for you.

Our team don't have Altium software. Would you please translate the Altium design file to a format that is compatible with Cadence Allegro?

Hi Danilo,

I'm not familiar with Cadence Allegro tool and what file types it can accept. Maybe .brd file? The list in the screenshot I provided is the types I can export to. I can also export as ODB++ or IPC-2581.

If none of these work for Cadence Allegro then they may need to try a 3P translator tool.

Our customer tried to open the file in OrCAD (not Cadence Allegro) but this error appeared. Would you please send a schematic diagram in .opj and PCB in Orcad format? Sorry for the confusion.

For the schematics, I don't see .opj as an option to export (see below options). Would .dsn type work?

What file extension is expected? Altium doesn't specify a OrCAD exporter tool, see from the list I screenshot earlier.

I think the Orcad V7 Capture Design file would work the best.

I just received this feedback from our customer,

This file did not work. Would you be able to get the Export/OrCad SDT Schematic?

If that doesn’t work we will probably have to contact Altium. I already reached out to OrCAD and they’re having the same troubles as me.

Sure, no problem. Hopefully it works, if not I think I'm out of options on my side. Maybe Altium / OrCAD will have better capabilities, I'm not certain.
