Hello,

I would like to ask about "Test" pin of TMS320F28027.

If the Test pin is "tied to ground" ( not floated) , it would be adversely affected ?

If we mistake (= Test pin tied to ground), whether we "must" change it to be floated , or not ?

Matsubara-san,

This pin must be floated per the DS. This pin is used by the flash subsystem, and I believe there are some active voltages that will drive on this pin during different flash operations, so it cannot be grounded.

Whould you tell me what are the specific differences if TEST pin is tied to ground or float when driving the motor (by InstaSpin) ?

What the influence if TEST pin is tied to ground ,and the flash subsystem is executed ?

Hiroyasu,

For debug/evaluation it is likely OK to have this pin shorted to ground. However, for mass production we must follow the DS recommendation. Under certain test modes, which are not used by our normal API calls, that voltages from the flash pump will be applied to this pin. A path to ground in these conditions can effect the reliability of the flash.
