circular addressing on the CLA? F2837XD

Hello,

Is there a way to do any sort of circular address on the CLA for the F2837XD processors. It can be done in assembly on the core, using the .lp_mode directive, but I've not seen anything similar for the CLA. Relatedly, can you please point me to a manual or reference for CLA assembly language, i.e. all the possible instructions with explanation, etc.

Hi Robert,

The circular addressing mode is only supported on C28. CLA does not support this.

Hi Ashwini,

Thanks for the reply. Ok, I'll have to design accordingly. Of course, circular addressing is a huge time saving for most algorithms, so I hope TI will consider adding that into the CLA as well, in the future.

Can you, or someone else, please provide me a reference for all the possible CLA assembly instructions?

The 3.2. Device-Specific Features section of the C2000 CLA Software Development Guide says the assembly instruction set is documented in the Device Technical Reference Manual (TRM)

E.g. TMS320F2837xD Dual-Core Microcontrollers Technical Reference Manual (Rev. I) has section 6.7 Instruction Set.

Hi Robert,

I have noted your suggestion and will pass it on to the team. Chester has provided the right input for the CLA instruction set - it is listed in device TRM in the CLA chapter.
