TMS320F28379D: TMS320F28379D

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Hello

Good afternoon, I m trying to make a breakout board for the docking station of the above mentioned part. Can I kindly know if I can put 2 CAN buses and then send out 2 different signals or set of signals from the TI DSP through this CAN buses to the other controller interface. What are the things that I need to take care in doing such a board. If anyone can reply it will be of immense help.

Thank you.

  • Hi Vikram,

The physical layer of CAN bus (CANL, CANH) that connects the CAN module of the F28379D through the CAN transceiver can handle incoming and outgoing frames from a node or another controller.  You do not need to have 2 CAN buses for data communication between two controllers.  One CAN bus will accommodate several nodes or controllers as long as each node is sending data at the same baud rate.

    Regards,

    Joseph

  • Vikram,

I hope we answered your question. In future, for questions like this, please include a figure that shows what you are trying to do. This would save a lot of time on our end. I am attaching a fig that shows the wiring for CAN bus. This is from www.ti.com/lit/SPRACU9
