TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT: Sensorless Trapezoidal Control of BLDC Motors

Part Number: TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28035, CONTROLSUITE

Dear Sir,
I am using  TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT, High Voltage Motor Control and PFC Developer's Kit for my experimental work. I have loaed the sensor less control of BLDC program in configured device (TMS320F28035)
As per the study manual I have verified the LEVEL-1 and pulses are coming fine.
I have changed the motor parameters and loaded the program for LEVEL-2, I have applied only 50V for verification. Now, my motor is rotating only one revolution and making some humming noise

Do I have to change any parameters or I have to apply rated voltage? Please do the needful. Thanks in advance for your quick support.

Thanks and Regards

  • Please refer to the application note to tune the parameters as below in build level 2. And please make sure that you run the motor without load, and there is no over current issue.

 RampDelay (Q0 format): for changing the ramping time.
 CmtnPeriodTarget (Q0 format): for changing the targeted commutation interval.

“Thanks for your questions on the solutions in controlSUITE.  I’d like to point out that these solutions in controlSUITE are about 10 years old and haven’t had any updates in that time. We recommend our customers use our latest generation of devices which are supported for InstaSPIN-FOC, other sensorless techniques, and sensored servo control through C2000Ware-MotorControl-SDK”
