Hi team,
Due to the supply issue, my customer would like to use TMS320F28234 HLQFP package to P2P replace the LQFP package.
The question is if the thermal pad of TMS320F28234 HLQFP package can be floating? The customer use the old design layout so they can't connect thermal pad to ground.
The work temperature is -40-125°
Please give some comments, thank you!

For the TMS320F28234 package change:
Though both have same number of pins, the package sizes are different. This might not be feasible. If the customer has resolved this concern it would be interesting to know.
