TMS320F28388D: How to set an EEPROM address for EtherCAT

Hi,

My program is working fine in the TI EVK kit. My TwinCAT can scan it, and I can program an ESI file into the EEPROM mounted on the EVK kit.

However, it doesn't work all right in my private board, saying "Error Writing E2PROM..." in the TwinCAT.

Our HW guy said, he had to use a different EEPROM (M24C32 : 32Kbit serial i2c EEPROM of ST) because of an EOL issue.

It has a different i2c address. So I have to reflect it in my code, but I don't know how to do it. Can you help me?

I'd suggest reviewing Beckhoff's datasheets for the EEPROM (SII device) requirement details (section 1 & 2).

Hi Casey,

Looking at this issue again, I believe this is due to the EEPROM size actually (16 Kbit vs 32 Kbit).

There is a bit in the ESCSS_MISC_CONFIG register that needs to be set based on the EEPROM size. Please try after setting the F2838x device’s ESCSS_MISC_CONFIG.EEPROM_SIZE register bit to 1.
