This function sets the DAC shadow output value. What is meant by shadow output value ?

I am a newbie to microcontrollers. Please explain.

Hi,

The DAC output to be generated is provided through DACVALA register. DACVALS is the shadow register which gets loaded to DACVALA either on sysclk or any of the selected PWMSYNC event.
