TMS320F28375D: using the single core "S" and the dual core "D" parts interchangeably

My customer is finding solutions for the supply shortages and asked if there is a way to use the "D" part in place of the "S" part without changing the programming image. Is that possible? I am particularly concerned with the device ID and the programming of parts in the assembly line. Do you share the same concern? Any comments are welcome.

Multiple locations have different programmers. Can you comment in generic terms what are the implications of using "D" and "S" devices interchangeably with the same program image?

Lenio,

If the programmer is looking at the Device Identification registers to determine whether or not to allow the program operation, then switching the devices may not work.
