TMS320F28379D: PID controller

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Hi Team,

Our customer is looking for a PID controller for their project and found the https://www.ti.com/lit/an/spra083/spra083.pdf application note. However, they would like to make sure that all the required features of their application is available in the microcontroller that they will buy. According to our customer,

The general idea is that we want to combine several sub-band signals to formulate a wideband signal. Then at the edges of the sub-band, two signals could overlap with each other. If these two signals have undesired phase mismatches, they lead to interference. So the solution is that, we need a PID controller to compute this phase mismatch and hopefully output tunable voltage levels and feed it to the phase shift at one of the sub-band signal. For your convenience, I briefly write the required specifications as a first view:

- Input to the PID controller: a sine featured signal around DC, maximum 1kHz.
- The PID controller needs to update the phase mismatch information every 10 to 100ms.
- DAC could be not even necessary at the output of PID, we just need to generate different voltage levels and feed them to a phase shifter.
- 3 PID working in parallel.

Is the TMS320F28379D suitable for this application? If not, can you please suggest a microcontroller that fits his requirements?

Regards,

Danilo
