TIDM-1000: Inductance calculation method and neutral line problem

Part Number: TIDM-1000

Dear team:

Customers have the following problems with this reference design:

1. The inductance value calculated on page 13 of the user's guide does not match through simulation. Current simulation ripple measured by reference design is about half of the ripple marked in guide. Does the actual current ripple of TI match? Is there a reference waveform?

2. It is necessary to add an AC N-point to the midpoint of the capacitor when opening the loop test according to the reference design. Is there any line without N-line test? Customer simulation tests are voltage stable, but capacitor voltage is extremely unbalanced.

3. For the first step open-loop test, after the customer considers adding DC voltage, first measure single-phase BOOST and then two-phase BOOST. Is this feasible?

Best regards,

Green

  • Hi Green,

    1. The inductance value calculated on page 13 of the user's guide does not match through simulation. Current simulation ripple measured by reference design is about half of the ripple marked in guide. Does the actual current ripple of TI match? Is there a reference waveform?

Are you comparing it with the tidm-1000 simulation model customer created? or TI shared?

    2. It is necessary to add an AC N-point to the midpoint of the capacitor when opening the loop test according to the reference design. Is there any line without N-line test? Customer simulation tests are voltage stable, but capacitor voltage is extremely unbalanced.

No, since only build 4 has balanced loop, we expect cap voltage will be unbalanced if you disconnect that line which aligns with the simulation results you mentioned.

    3. For the first step open-loop test, after the customer considers adding DC voltage, first measure single-phase BOOST and then two-phase BOOST. Is this feasible?

Sorry, I didn't get your question here.

  • I am the customer who asked this question

About question 1,The MATLAB simulation model built by myself (which can run stably), the simulation results do not match the TI documentation. Please send me a MATLAB simulation model for TIDM-1000, I will study this part.thank yon

  • Hi Pengfei,

Please ask Green to reach out to us so that we can send it to you. Thanks.

    Chen

  • HI Jiang ,Did you send it to Green?

  • Hi Pengfei,

We are working on it and Green will get back to you. Thanks for your patience.

    Regards,
