Hi,

I am sure this is a silly question. In the device datasheet two sets of timing requirements are given for the I2C inteface. One for standard mode and one for fast mode. I referenced the TRM to see how the mode is selected. The TRM indictes the device is compliant with both modes but I do not see at statement on how how the speed mode is selected.

We are running the interface at 100 kHz and communicating with a TMP468 which is in fast mode.

We dont have a specific bit to enable fast mode. But, we have I2CCLKL / I2CCLKH registers to configure device to 400 KHz baud rate. To configure I2C baud rate of 400 kHz, you can use below driverlib function

I2C_initMaster(I2CA_BASE, DEVICE_SYSCLK_FREQ, 400000, I2C_DUTYCYCLE_50);

The datasheet gives two different timing requirements one for standard and one for fast. For requirements that apply to the output of your device, under what device settings are the standard requirements adhered to and under what device settings are the fast requirements adhered to?

Jennifer,

When I2C buad rate is less than or equal to 100 KHz then use standard mode table. For I2C baud rate greater than 100 KHz you need to use fast mode table.
