TMS320F280049C: Mux GPIO16 sig to one of the CLB tiles

Part Number: TMS320F280049C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG

Hi,

I'm trying to configure GPIO16 input to be sent to one of the CLB tiles. The figure below shows the signal chain that I'm interested in.

1) Input X-BAR.I suspect, INPUT_XBAR_REGS =16. Please let me know if this is incorrect.

2) CLB X-BAR. Would this result in the signal routed to INPUT1 shown below?

3) CLB Global MUX. What to do next?

Is there a detailed application note explaining the process?

I would prefer not to use sysconfig tool.

Thanks for your help

  • Hi Shiraz,

Thanks for reaching out on the E2E forums. There is not an app note that specifically goes over this process, but there is information about this within our CLB module in C2000 Academy (https://dev.ti.com/tirex/global?id=c2000Academy). This specific information will be available within the upcoming C2000 Academy update, but I can provide a screenshot which is taken from this unreleased training module update.

Please read through the description provided in this excerpt and let me know if you have additional questions. If so I can clarify further.

    Regards,

    Peter

  • Thanks Peter.

The snippet you provided is useful. I'm also going back and forth from the example code and TRM to piece together the workflow.

But this will be a large effort.

Can you post the link when the C2000 Academy is updated with this information?

    Thanks again for your help.

    Shiraz

  • Hi Shiraz,

Yes I believe the intended update is set to be release within the next two months, but I can't provide an exact date. Updates to the CLB module also include a step-by-step lab using the CLB, and one of the actions covered in that lab is routing a GPIO to the CLB. This lab is done in SysConfig, though.

I recommend trying out the SysConfig tool even if you do not plan to use it to generate your code. For example, it can be helpful for looking at potential MUX options within the CLB XBARs, like below
