TMS320F28065: how to use sysconfig software to generate code for F2806x family

Hello forum,

I am completely new to this F280x microcontrollers. I read somewhere that using TI System Configuration Tool it is possible to configure microcontroller. but I cant find my microcontroller in its device list. I checked the supported families of this software. based on this link supported families include:

CC13xx, CC26xx, CC31xx, CC32xx, MSP432 MCUs, Keystone 2 SoC, Sitara processors, DRAx, TDAx, TMS320F28x, mmWave, Tiva ARM® MCUs

obviously TMS320F28x (including F28065) is supported. now I am confused and I don't know what I should do. please help me out.

in spracx3.pdf document, it is written that supported families are: – F2807x, F2837xS, F2837xD – F28004x – F2838x – F28002x – F28003x.

so I can't use it. unfortunately I can't find example code for my device. there are just a few samples in this directory:

C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_4_01_00_00\device_support\f2806x\examples\c28

this are not enough. for example to config external clock there is no example code.

Hi Hamid,

You are correct, SysConfig is only compatible with our latest C2000 devices starting with F2837x. The device support folder has a limited number of example codes, like you said, the rest you will have to refer to the device's TRM for additional information for. Is there a specific application you are looking to use the F2806x device for?

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the reply. I am going to implement FOC motor control algorithm. however first I should be able to configure its peripherals.

Hi Hamid,

For the end application, we do have controlsuite which shows applicable example codes for F2806x motor control. On the peripheral side, you can use this F2806x training available online to learn more about the peripherals and registers on the device (https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=AYOk2wmjuIDZjTaFoACjrA__jEBbtmC__LATEST)
