TMS320F280039C: The maximum clock frequency of CLB.

Hi champs,

The maximum system clock frequency of F28003x devices is 120 MHz.

I would like to know the maximum CLB clock frequency, is it 100 MHz or 120 MHz please?

Hi Luke,

This device's CLB is clocked off of the peripheral SYSCLK which runs at 120 MHz. You can refer to table 3-7 of the TRM for the list of clock sources for the different systems and peripherals on the device.

Hi Peter,

In F2838x devices, when CLB clock frequencies are above 100 MHz (ex: 150 MHz), PIPELINE mode MUST be enabled.

In F28003x devices, do you mean CLB can be clocked by PERx.SYSCLK at 120 MHz and no other settings are needed?

Hi Luke,

That is correct. The F2838x's CLB clock is divided from the CPU clock so that the CLB operates only at 100 MHz, and PIPELINE enables up to 150 MHz. The F28003x is directly clocked at 120 MHz.
