LAUNCHXL-F280025C: Flash one board from another?

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F280025C

Hi,

I have two LAUNCHXL-F280025C boards, where I connected them together over the J102 connector (as described in the schematics is this the debug port). I removed all the jumpers from J101 on both devices, but I could not flash it, since I always get the following error (same as when no board is connected):

When I directly connect GND, 3V3, TMS and TCK over jumper cables from the J102 port, I can flash the device, but I observed a lot of EMI when done this way, that is the reason I want to use the J102 port for much better connection. Is J102 not meant to connect two eval boards together? I see it has the XDS Reset pin connected and this might be an issue?

Board Connection:

  • Hi Sebastian,

The J102 connector on the LaunchPads is only for bringing XDS110 JTAG signals out. It is not intended to be an input to debug the on-board C2000 device. See the LaunchPad schematic or User's Guide for more details.

However, it might work if you populate the J101 jumpers on the board your trying to connect to. Not sure if the XDS110 signal contention will cause any issues.

    Best,

    Kevin
