TMS320F28379D: To find the Max R3/R4 average Power from TJA1044GT/3(CAN transceiver) to TMS320F28379D

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Dear support team,

I would like to know the  Max R3/R4 average Power in this schematic. We have taken TJA1044GT/3 as the transceiver for Connecting to TMS320F28379D. Please provide any formulas or methods to find the Max Average power in R3/R4 in schematic

  • Well the average power will vary depending on the data sent and the baud rate used. Assuming a worst case of 100% high time then a simple V=I*R should work. if you want to try and make assumptions of your data being transmitted feel free to simply multiply by the positive duty cycle as a percentage.

I suspect a 1/4w resistor is overkill, but maybe not.

    Regards,
    Cody
