Hello,

I have a new design with a TMS320F280049C.

The software runs correctly with debugger in CCS.

The software runs correctly if I flash the MCU with UniFlash tool, with the "Run Target After Program Load/Flash Operation" option enabled.

But if I reset the target (new power on), the MCU doesn't boot.

GPIO24 and GPIO32 have a 57K pull up.

With UniFlash, I can read at 0x0005F008 (Z1-OTP-BOOTPIN-CONFIG for standalone) = 0xFFFF FFFF.

Why doesn't the C2000 automatically run the software at reset ?

can you connect the device to CCS (without gel file) and check where the program counter is.

I dont see anything obvious missing from the procedure you followed. so we need to understand whats going on in the device.

How can I connect the device to CSS without gel file ?

I'm trying to modify the Target Configuration, to bypass the gel file :

But CCS crashes if I connect the target.

that is unexpected. I debug without gel file on daily basis but havent faced crash of CCS.

otherwise open the gel file and comment out the onTargetConnect function. This function resets the CPU thats why you always see the the CPU is halt at reset vector when you connect with CCS. But in reality CPU runs after reset when debugger is not connected.
