GPIO register question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Hey Guys,

I just had a question about the GPIO registers. I am using on GPIO for a control scheme for a rectifier. This issue i have is, according to the TMS320x2833x 2823x System control and interrupts document sprufb0d.pdf, there is a register called GPxDAT which when read determines the current state of the register if it is an output. However, after trying to code this in CCS v4, i cannot access this register in any way, shape or form. If anyone could tell me whether this register exists or not that would be awesome.

I am trying to access this via GpioCtrlRegs., etc

  • There is a software example of using the GPIO peripheral module and accessing the GPxDAT register in gpio_toggle example within controlSUITE.

If you look at the <CONTROLSUITE_INSTALL_DIR>\device_support\f2833x\<version>\DSP2833x_examples_ccsv4\gpio_toggle you will see the example.

<version> is replaced with v132 on my system.

  • Basically GpioCtrlRegs aids you to configure a particular pins appropriately. Whereas GpioDataRegs helps you to set/clear (if a particular GPIO is configured as output). Please make sure that you configured (MUX and Data direction registers) properly.
