Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F2806
We have found an issue that is compromising the normal behavior of the TMS320F2806 digital signal processor and consequently compromising the normal behavior of our product.
Under specific circumstances, the DSP enters in an erroneous behavior and, among other malfunctions, blocks the capability of writing some registers, namely the TBCTL register of all the ePWM modules (1, 2, 3 and 4). The eCAP modules are also affected.
After some investigation, we discover that when the DSP enters in this erroneous behavior, the 5th and 6th bit of the register TBCTL remains stucked at 1. Any attempt of writing to those bits is ignored.
For now, the only found solution that solves the issue and restores the normal behavior of the DSP is to do a watchdog reset.
1. Do you have any knowledge about this issue or any other similar?
2. Do you have any explanation for this behavior?
3. There is any other workaround besides the watchdog reset?
