I'm working an a firmware update code with the plan that I convert the .out file from the C compiler to a hex text file which will be transferred from our Linux SOM module via SPI (master) to our F280049 processor.
We cannot do this using the boot mode of F280049, instead our firmware will have code running from RAM that will download and flash the new firmware.
Currently I'm investigating converting the .out to a text/hex file which I do as follows:
bin/hex2000 --boot -a --sci8 -o ourcodeashex.txt ourcode.out
I've created trivial C code that outputs in "plain langua" the contents of ourcodeashex.txt.
In there I see blocks that I expected to see that fall into the Flash address range and
which seem to correspond to the actual Flash contents I see with debugger after programmin ourcode.txt using CCS/XDS200
But I also see blocks that fall outside the Flash and I'm questioning what are those blocks?
Can I just ignore them, program the Flash contents and cold boot normally?
