Hi team.

How long will it take for PWM to stop after we put signal to the comparator ports, for TMS320F280039C and TMS320F28377S, when internal filter is disabled?

The datasheet shows 60ns as stop response time, but I believe it is the time between the compactor detects the signal and the PWM stops.

The customer would like to know the time between the voltage is applied to the MCU port and the PWM stops. I’d appreciate it if you could share details if possible, like below figure.

Hi Kurumi,

Could you please provide more data related to the (+) and (-) terminals of the comparator. Is the negative terminal using the internal DAC, ramp generator, is that voltage being applied externally? For any of these, what is the voltage value at the (-) terminal?

What does the (+) input signal look like (voltage range)?

The design team needs information about the input signals to be able to do a simulation.

Hi Marlyn,

Those are connected to internal DAC. (+) input signal range is not really decided yet, but around 1V~3V. CMP threshold is about 2.5V.

Hi Kurumi,

The max time is 60ns (as specified in the datasheet). This is actually the max time including the comparator logic (ie. time between voltage applied to the pin and the pwm stopping).
