Deadband, symmetry and modulation ratio

Hello All

I am trying to figure out the correct programming the e-Pwm modules in active-Hi-Comp in UP-DOWN mode for a half bridge inverter in 28035.

In all the sample code give in SPRUGE9e, the deaband module is programmed to stamp out both RED and FED out of PWM-A pulses ( EPwmp->Regs->DBCTL.bit.IN_MODE = DBA_ALL;).

Assume RED = FED. Instead of DBA_ALL, had that been  DBB_RED_DBA_FED  (or) DBA_RED_DBB_FED,  will it not result in in better modulation ratio? Will it not create a more symmetric output? But if so, both CMPA and CMPB have to evaluated at run-time. I think that is better way of using DB module. Do you have any sample code for the same?

Also, I am thinking of changing IN_MODE in runtime from DBA_ALL to DBB_ALL for the positive and negative half of inverter sine output to check if that improves the modulation ratio? Is it OK to reconfigure DB module at runtime every sine half cycle? Is the effect instantaneous?

Regards.
