LAUNCHXL-F28027F: ISO7240 and ISO7232 replacement

The Universal Motor Lab in the C2000WARE-MOTORCONTROL-SDK supports DRV8353 today. Why not use that and a newer C2000 LaunchPad instead? See https://www.ti.com/lit/spruj26 document

If they're designing a custom LaunchPad they could design it without isolation along the JTAG interface, assuming it will only be used in low-voltage testing.

I received feedback from our customer as shown below:
"Thanks for your support. I will research your document. So, If I have a question, I will ask you in the future (about 2-3 business days).

I just remembered that I have a rather important question. Can I use DRV8353R with the different MOSFET and another layout PCB to drive a 4kW motor? specific hoppywing x9 motor (link attached: www.hobbywing.com/goods.php ). Since I only found applications for 1.5 kW so I am not sure."

"I reviewed your document about the newer C2000 LaunchPad, but some components in the board are out of stock too. In addition, our embedded engineer is programming on C2000 LaunchPad F28069M and F28027F (Image below), so I will continue using F28027F.

Maybe, I must still find a replacement for ISO7240 and ISO7232."

I received an additional question from our customer: "if I want a smaller design for the C2000 circuit, can you give me some references? Now, I see that the JTAG part to flash the circuit's firmware takes up a lot of space."

If this is a new product they are designing the C2000 team would strongly suggest they use a newer part than the F28069M or F28027F, which are fairly old at this point. The F28002x, F28003x, and brand new F280013x devices that have a lot of good enhancements made over the years.

That's correct. They don't need to put all these circuits on their board. Instead they could just include a standardized JTAG header and connect with an external debug probe.

We received feedback from our customer that he is completely satisfied with your answer. Thank you very much.

He mentioned that he tried searching for JTAG adapters but most of them are outdated.

Do you have any suggestions?

For easy implementation. He thinks he needs an external circuit using FT2232H IC with a 10-pin JTAG and a mini USB but he can't find a similar circuit.
