Did you also change the status of boot mode pins (GPIO37/GPIO34)? If you want to boot from CAN, both of these pins should be high. If you want to change the boot option to Wait Boot Mode, GPIO37 should remain high and GPIO34 should be driven low.

Yes, I checked the status of TWO pins. Thay are HIGH. I want to BOOT from flash after the new update. 

I want to call the CAN bootloader by an application program.

Is it possible to do?

Yes, it is possible.

What you can do is to configure the bootload pins to always boot the device from flash. In your firmware, you can wait for a pre-determined time looking a specific CAN frame. If you receive that frame from the host, you can switch to the CAN bootloader. Else, you can just branch to your application.

In order to implement this, you could try the following steps:

1. Set the GPIO37 and GPIO34 pins both high on the device
2. If not using debug probe, set the OTP key as 0x005A and the OTP BMODE as 0x000B in order to set Flash as the primary boot
3. Within your main firmware code, you need to set a determined wait time for specific CAN frame interaction using an appropriate delay for your setup. Here is where you can modify the f28069_can_flash_kernel example found in C2000Ware_X_XX_XX_XX\device_support\f2806x\examples\c28.
   1. While starting in Flash boot mode, call  CAN_Boot() for CAN-PortA Communication initialization
   2. Call CAN_Init()
   3. Determine if CAN_GetWordData contains the appropriate frame you are looking for. If yes, continue to download the application to a new section of flash. If not, return to the entry point address for Flash boot mode.

              You can load the symbols for the boot-ROM from TMS320x2806x_boot_rom_gold_release.out in C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_4_01_00_00\libraries\boot_rom\f2806x\v1_1\rom_sources\Release  (please download the latest version of C2000ware, if you have not done so already). Once you have loaded the symbols, you will have visibility to all the functions of the BROM in the debugger. You can now easily identify the start address of the CAN bootloader. One thing to bear in mind: Your application might have configured the PLL multiplier/divider in a particular way, which is likely different from how the BROM configures it. Be aware of this as this might change the bit-rate of the CAN bootloader.

The procedure to load the symbols is no different than the procedure to load a .out file.

Hi Kasun,

In order to flash a new sector, you would have to change the linker cmd file for the application to account for the flash sections you want to use. A good example to follow would be the Example_FlashF2806x_API found in C2000Ware_X_XX_XX_XX\device_support\f2806x\examples\c28\flash_programming. For this example, flash sectors A, C and D are listed for memory allocation, with sector B being used for data memory. For this device in particular, the sectors are denoted A to H, with Flash A starting at 0x3F4000 to Flash H at 0x3D8000, each sector size being 0x4000kw. This information can be found in the C2000Ware_X_XX_XX_XX\device_support\f2806x\docs, the USBBL_UG pdf. 

For example, if you place your flash kernel code in RAM and run your application to initially place the update in Flash Sector A, you can choose to overwrite that section, or move to a new section if necessary. Let me know if this helps.

I am making a custom bootloader for the CAN BOOT for the TSM320F28069M. Since there is not any way to call the CAN BOOTLOADER in this MCU. 

I want to run the main code in the FLASH. when an CAN frame is received, I want to start the CAN BOOTLOADER to receive the CAN FLASH KERNEL. Then the application code is sent through the host.
