  • Hi James,

That's unusual for two different boards to fail like this.

he started working with them yesterday only, but after connecting them to the laptop, the power LED blinked intially for fe minutes and then it got OFF, and then the controller as heating abnormally

The connection to the laptop was just the USB cable? You're certain the USB port on your laptop is functioning properly? Also, did you make any other external connections or could any material touched the PCB that could cause a short?

Where were the LaunchPads ordered from?

    Best,

    Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

My USB is alright as after connecting this new controller, I connected the old controller also, however it is still working fine with the same connections and procedure as followed for the new one. Also I am sure about it that, there were no such things nearby the controller that could have shorted it. I also checked the controller with other laptops that had code composer studio installed in it, but the controller was heating abnormally. My lab already has four such controllers, and I have been using this since two years. I also want to add that It was quite a tiring experience to receive this product from DHL express, as I wasted my two complete days for its custom clearance approval. I would not want to face the same situation again on my own. So, I request you to understand my problem regarding this and accept my return or replacement request.

    Best Regards

  • Hi James,

OK understand, sorry for the inconveniences. It seems they received a couple faulty LaunchPads, which is rare but can happen from time to time.

They can follow the return procedures documented on the page below.
