TMS320F280023: Porting to C2000 controllers with Backup memory feature

Part Number: TMS320F280023
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430FG6426

Dear Team,

We are currently using MSP430FG6426 controller for one of our products which extensively uses the Backup memory feature to retain data during powerdown.
The corresponding data we save would change every 0.5Seconds and this feature was reliable than a EEPROM or FLASH solution.

Now we plan to upgrade to a high performance controller C2000 - F280023, and we are now stuck on how we could mirror this backup memory feature since its not available in C2000.
Do you have any alternate solution for this ?. Like do we have any external RAM from TI with battery backup which can do this job like the MSP430 did ?
Or some other ways that you could suggest where we can have a smooth transition with this feature from MSP430 to C2000

Thanks
Surya
