TMS320F28335: TA question

Hi Champ,

Customer used F28335PTPA device which the recommend Max TA is 85C, Max Tj is 125°C,

Customer measured the case temperatures then calculate the Tj, and found Tj is less than 125°C, but the TA is over 85°C, they want to know if there have any risk?

Exceeding Tj will likely damage the device. Exceeding Ta will violate the datasheet specifications. Each temperature range device (S,Q,A) has a set of testing limits which ensure the device will operate as intended in the specified temperature range. If the temperature range is exceeded the datasheet parameters may not be met(Accuracy, lifetime, power consumption and more could be affected)

In this case its recommended to buy the PTPS device.
