TMS320F28384S: Can't connect xds200 USB debugger to processor

For reference, we tried different processors/boards and different xds200 USB to JTAG cables and it seems to follow the laptop. The xds200 and boards work for the rest of us thus this seems to be a driver issue as indicated by Garrett. 

On my machine, the events for the 'XDS2xx Emulator CDC Serial Port show event IDs UserPnp 20003, Kernel-PnP 440, and Kernel-PnP 430. I have not had trouble connecting.

I reinstalled the FTDI driver but it still wouldn't connect. I tried reinstalling the XDS user/emulator drivers afterward as well, but it still wouldn't connect.

This is external XDS200 debug probe you are connecting, right?

Do not connect to target. Just connect XDS200 to a USB port, and can you send the picture of the Windows Device Manager? Does it enumerate? Does Windows see the USB bus activity when you connect the xds200?

If it does not enumerate, can you try other USB port, or other USB cable you have. You mentioned it works on other laptop, so it is not the XDS200 and cable. It must be USB driver or USB port on your laptop.

Which OS/Version you are using? What is CCS version?

Correct, this is an external XDS200 debug probe. Here is what appeared in the Windows Device Manager when I plugged it just into a USB port.

My machine is currently running Windows 11 Enterprise, version 22H2, OS build 22621.819.

I have CCS version 11.1.0 installed. Thank you!

It looks like the XDS200 is enumerated properly.

Can you open the target configuration file, and send the image of your configuration, and also run the 'Test Connection' and then send the 'Console Log'?

Have you tried to connect using other laptop? Your coworker where it is working, are they also using Windows 11?

The XDS200 does work on my coworker's laptop, and he is using the same device/OS/setup as I am.

I am not sure why it is unable to open the port. 

Try disconnecting the target board from the XDS200 and then run the conf utility. It is possible that there is a grounding issue with the target board. After disconnecting the board reboot the PC.

If the XDS200 is connected to a USB3.0 port or a hub try connecting directly to the PC on a USB2.0 port.

I forgot to mention one thing. Are you using Virtual PC? Try to use it directly, may be virtual PC does not have access to the port.

Hi Santosh,

My coworker mentioned that he had driver issues with another device because his Core isolation -> Memory integrity was turned on in his Windows settings.

Another coworker mentioned that it was probably the issue. I've opened a request with our IT department and will let you know how it goes.
