TMS320F28379D: How does the eCAP module deals with the first edge when in DIff mode?

I will use the eCAP module to measure the frequency, but at the same time, I would like to count the number of pulses I received.

I am unsure if an interrupt will be generated for the first edge the eCap sees, so my question is, will an interrupt be generated on the very first edge?

Hi,

Did you take a look at eQEP module? Is it better suitable for finding the frequency?

The signals I am reading go from 0.2HZ to 10KHz; I think the 32bits eCAP counter gives a good resolution. and the frequency calculation is easy being

CLK/ counter.
