TMS320F28377D: Pwm waveform generation

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

Hi Jason,

Unfortunatelly, i just realised that 28377D microprocessor doesn't have CLB modules in it. Only 28379D has it. Is there any other way to implement the tripple switching waveform as I presented in the first picture of this thread?

Also, suppose I would switch to 28379D, is it possible to connect the output of CLB module to lets say ePWM8?

Best regards.

  • Hi,

The subject matter expert is out of office due to holiday break. Please expect response by 1st week of January. Sincere apology for inconvenience.

  • Hello Aleksandr,

Apologies, I didn't realize that the 28377D didn't have the CLB. In that case, really the only option I can think of is for the waveform to rely on the CTR=PRD and/or CTR=0 events. This is quite a bit less configurable than the CMPx events, unfortunately.

As for your second question, that is possible, yes- if you glance at the device TRM section 26.3.4 Table 26-3, the signals listed as 'PWMx', 'AQ_PWMx', and 'DB_PWMx' override the final, Action Qualifier, and Deadband outputs of each PWM channel (A,B), respectively.

  • Hi Jason,

    Thank you for your reply!

Regarding my second question you said that according to the table 26.3 it is possible, however i didn't find in this table that the output of CLB can be connected to ePWM8 AQ module. The output of CLB can only be connected to ePWM1,2,3,4 AQ modules.

  • Hello again Aleksandr,

Apologies, I misunderstood your question. I thought you were asking whether or not, in general, the ePWM could be connected to the CLB- I missed that you were asking about ePWM8 specifically. Unfortunately, the listed connections are the only options for the CLB output.
