TMS320F28386S: Role of assy file

Part Number: TMS320F28386S

I imported the example repo flash_kernel_c28x_dual_ex1_c28x1. Therein is a file named f2838x_codestartbranch_cpu1.asm and it is listed in the linkinfo.xml file and the cmd file.

Why is there not a similar file in all of the repos?

The reason I am asking is that I am making a copy of this repo for another project and I am removing most of the files. I do not think I will need this file but the project will not build without it.

    John, 

    The f2838x_codestartbranch_cpu1.asm contains the entry point function for the code. When you load and start executing the code, it will start executing from "code_start" label in this assembly file.  All the examples projects have this assembly file included - f2838x_codestartbranch.asm .   The name maybe different but it serves the same functionality.
