TMS320F280039C: Use CMAC to check user's bootloader placed on the first 16 KB flash?

Part Number: TMS320F280039C

Dear Champs,

I am asking this for our customer.

From 4.8.4 Secure Flash Boot of TRM, it says:

"The Flash authentication uses a Cipher-based Message Authentication Protocol (CMAC) to authenticate 16 KB of Flash starting from the configured Flash entry point address."

Therefore, if the user puts their own bootloader on the first 16KB of flash entry point (0x80000), the user can use CMAC HW to authenticate the integrity of their own bootloader.

Is our understanding correct?
