TMS320F280025: IEC60730/UL1998

Part Number: TMS320F280025
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Dear Champs,

I am asking this for customers.

The user can follow F28002x safety manual and refer to the diagnostic library codes on C2000ware to develop own related codes.

Then, it should be enough for the user to pass IEC60730/UL1998 certification themselves.

Is our understanding correct?

Or is there anything else TI can provide for them to pass IEC60730/UL1998?

Wayne

  • Hi Wayne,

Do you know what class of certification they're going for? IEC60730 class B should be doable, but class C might be more challenging since F28002x doesn't have a CLA to help with reciprocal comparison.

But otherwise, yes, the diagnostic library and the safety manual should be able to provide guidance to help them meet the requirements of the standard. The only other thing I can think of is that we have a CSP package for the F28002x SDL that we can share (by MySecure request) that has some test plans, test results, etc...for the SDL project. The library isn't certified, but the documents may be helpful to share with their assessor.

  • Dear Whitney,

    F280015x was just debuted.

As it is targeted for ISO26262 ASIL-B and it has lock-step, it should be more than enough for the user to meet IEC60730 class C with its functional safety packages.

We may recommend that the user consider it.

    Is my understanding correct?

  • Wayne,

Yes, on F280015x I expect they will be able to use lockstep to meet the class C requirements for an "independent hardware comparator" instead of doing reciprocal comparison.
