Hello,
We are building control board using TMS320F28377S. We are communicating with three external asynchronous memories through EMIF1 (16 bit data). EMIF 1 Data bus use GPIO72, default company set up use GPIO72 as boot select pin 1. LAUNCHXL board also uses GPIO72 as boot select pin 1. How to use EMIF 1 with GPIO72 as boot select pin 1. Is there a way to assign boot select pin 1 to some other GPIO instead of GPIO72? We are going to use internal Flash for boot loader. How to assign other GPIO as boot select pin 1?
Regards,
Sid
Sid,
GPIO72 has an internal pull-up, although a weak one. One way to bolster this would be to add an external PU. The trick is to choose the correct value. Too high a value would render that resistor ineffective. Too low a value would make it difficult for the device to drive the pin low when needed. i.e. the resistor you choose should still allow the device to maintain its VOL levels.
It is possible to reassign the boot-mode-select pins, but this warrants programming the OTP. Please refer to “4.5 Configuring Boot Mode Pins” in page 606 of www.ti.com/lit/SPRUHM8.
