TMS320F280048-Q1: BootPins usage as ePWM8

Hi,

In my board, I connected GPIO24 and GPIO32 to 3.3V with pull-up resistors as you can see below. It represents that device default boot mode is FLASH.

However, these pins are also can be configured as EPWM8A-8B. In my digital power application, I need a new time-base counter that is sync. to ePWM4A.

(I won't provide output waveform at those epwm's. I will just use its time-base to generate SYNCPER signals.)

Can I also use safely these GPIO24 and GPIO32 as EPWM?

Hi Gokhan,

There is option to use any GPIO pins for boot mode selection. For this you will have to configure the user OTPs.

Hi Pawan,

Which function does set the GPIO as boot selection mode? Could you please provide documentation? What is the header and c file in order to configure? My project is driver lib based.

In here my main question is: Can I use those boot pins also as for EPWM (only usage of its time base module)? and Do I have to disable that ePWM channel during in line programming?

TRM BootROM chapter section "4.3.1 Configuring Alternate Boot Mode Pins" will help in selection of custom boot mode pins. The selection of bootmode is done during device bootup i.e before the application executes and has a chance to configure the GPIO pins as ePWM.
