LAUNCHXL-F280039C: Question about the F28003X launchpad CAN pins connection (GND pin)

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F280039C

Question about the F28003X launchpad CAN pins

Hi folks. I am trying CAN communication between beaglebone G and LAUNCHXL-F280039C launchpad. Learned from to the F28003x user guild, the F28003X launchpad has on-board Controller Area Network (CAN) transceiver, and provides 3 pins for the CAN comm: HI, Lo, GND.

Before knowing the existence of on-board CAN transceiver on launchpad,  I was thinking the connection be like BBG == CAN_tranceiver1 ==(canbus wire)== CAN_transceiver2 == launchpad, and each of the can transceivers (Mine is TAJ1050) will be connecting Vcc, GND, Tx, Rx, respectively, to the BBG or launchpad.

with the on-board transceiver on launchpad, now the connection seems to be BBG == CAN_tranceiver1 ==(canbus wire)== launchpad, my question is, where should the GND pin of the F280039C CAN interface connect to? should it connect to the GND of the CAN_transceiver1 (which basically serves for BBG side,  since BBG doesn't have onboard transceiver)?

Thanks for advice in advance.

Regards,

Wei
