Hi,
I'm investigating the schematic of TIDM-02009.
1) I couldn't find the main transformer part number and its related design document. Could you please share them?
2) What is the Volt.usec of main transformer for only positive half cycle?
There is a code in BOM and I think it is wrong.
Thank you in advance.
Hi Gokkhan, as of the main transformer, it's due to being a customized design rather than a standard part. As of the Volt.usec of it, pls let me check with the h/w designer and get back to you before next Wednesday. Thank you for your patience!
Hi Gokkhan, pls have the attachment below for the transformer design file. Regarding your question 2), could you pls specify what Volt.usec means and how your positive half cycle circuit looks like?
Hi,
Thank you for answer.
I mean that Volt.usec product shows how much voltage and duration is applied to transformer windings for only positive half cycle. I wondered design parameter of transformer to find Bmax at worst case operation. If duration increases during keeping the input voltage same, transformer may sature if it isn't taken into account. It mat cause of load dump or load pump issue or sudden short circuit at output.
As an example, transformer waveforms is shown at below.
Thank you for datasheet, but I couldn't see how Bmax is considered.
Gokhan,
The design is rated to operate at 100 kHz, assuming maximum of 180-degree phase shift, the longest time of on will be ~ 5us, adn times 400V rated operating voltage, result in 2000 V.usec.
Hi Han,
Thank you for clear answer.
I need just one more step to conclude. The input voltage is 250V-450V. Why didn't you prefer to have 450V times 5usec = 2250Vusec as a transformer design base?
Did you consider any DC bias room at design? (It might be caused by mismatch in power switch in years)
Gokhan,
You are correct. If we factor in the 450V Vmax, it should be 2250Vusec.
Han
