TMS320F28386D: Debug error

Expert 2380 points
Part Number: TMS320F28386D

When do the debug, CCS often give the below error remind, and the debug failed.

We use the XSD110 which bought from TI.

What is the problem it maybe?

C28xx_CPU1: Error: (Error -1044 @ 0x0) The debug probe reported an error. Confirm debug probe configuration and connections, reset the debug probe, and retry the operation. (Emulation package 9.6.0.00172)
C28xx_CPU1: Trouble Halting Target CPU: (Error -1135 @ 0x8739) The debug probe reported an error. Confirm debug probe configuration and connections, reset the debug probe, and retry the operation. (Emulation package 9.6.0.00172)
C28xx_CPU1: Unable to determine target status after 20 attempts
C28xx_CPU1: Failed to remove the debug state from the target before disconnecting. There may still be breakpoint op-codes embedded in program memory. It is recommended that you reset the emulator before you connect and reload your program before you continue debugging

  • Hi W Z,

The expert is currently out of office, please expect a response back by tomorrow.

  • Hi,

Could you please use the 'Test Connection' button in your Target Configuration (.ccxml) file? Please post the output log here. Could you also try putting the device in 'wait boot' mode then see if you are able to connect? The below table from the datasheet describes how to do this.

    Best Regards,

    Ben Collier

  • Hi,

Could you please post a screenshot of your target configuration file like shown below? Your target configuration file should look like below, but with XDS110 and F28386D selected.

  • Hi,

Are you able to see your debugger in your computer's device manager? Do you have access to any other C2000 boards? Are you able to connect to other C2000 devices with your XDS110 debug probe? If not, could you please try following the steps from this webpage to update your XDS110's firmware? https://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/xdsdebugprobes/emu_xds110.html

    Best Regards,
