TMS320F28376S: Does this part support a USB bootloader application to update firmware via USB?

Part Number: TMS320F28376S
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

I want to be able to use the USB to update firmware directly.  Is there a USB bootloader application available?

  • Hi Brent,

You can select the ROM USB bootloader. The TRM "ROM Code and Peripheral Booting" chapter section on "Configuring Get Boot Options" has information on how to select the USB bootloader. The USB bootloader will interface with the USB flash programmer utility to update the firmware. The utility is found in C2000Ware\utilities\flash_programmers\usb_flash_programmer

  • Thanks for the reply and information Pawan.

Would it be possible to upload firmware via the USB bootloader by simply plugging in a USB stick on which a firmware file was located?  (i.e. we wouldn't be using the C2000 flash programming tool.)

  • Hi Brent,

This is currently not supported. A custom USB bootloader would be needed for this one.

    Regards, Pawan
