TMS320F28386S: GPTRIP for Enhanced Capture(eCAP)

Hi there,

I was reading about Enhanced Capture(eCAP) for TMS320F28386S and the "Table 24-1. eCAP Input Selection" present in Manual Reference, the index 127 is: "eCAP1-GPTRIP7; eCAP2-GPTRIP8; eCAP3-GPTRIP9; eCAP4-GPTRIP10; eCAP5-GPTRIP11; eCAP6-GPTRIP12; eCAP7-GPTRIP13". Searching for GPTRIP through the Manual i found the "Figure 31-17. ESC Latch Input Integration" that shows the GPTRIPs as "Input X-Bar" Module's output, but i didn't find any register related on chapter about X-BAR, did i miss anything? I read somewhere about a register GPTRIPxSEL but i haven't found this register on manual too.

Hi Ramon,

When configuring your eCAPs, take note that GPTRIP7 corresponds to eCAP1, GPTRIP8 corresponds to eCAP2 etc.

GPTRIP is really supposed to mean Input XBAR, so GPTRIP7 would be Input-Xbar 7 and the input to this input xbar can be any of the GPIO.

Hi Ryan Ma,

Firstly thanks for the answer, i really appreciate that, just one more question, at the "Table 24-1. eCAP Input Selection" for any eCAP, i may select which Input-Xbar i want already (values 15:0), is there any difference for the eCAP1 to select between 127 (GPTRIP7) or 6 (Input Xbar INPUT 7)?
