TMDSCNCD28379D: Error downloading hex file

Hello Ozino. Thank you for the answer. I downloaded UniFlash and tried to use it to download my .hex file. It ran for a long time, and the progress bar got almost to the end. But then it appeared to freeze. I gave it 15 minutes, which I would hope was 14 more than necessary. It of course did not display any error message, and nothing new after I cancelled. So some folllow-on questions:

1) Is there any way to determine why UniFlash froze?

2) Is there no option within Code Composer Studio to download a hex file directly? My CCS version is 12.2.0.00009

3) When I build, I do get an odd warning. It says:

   warning: Data is being written to auto-generated file pfc3phvienna_F2837x.x01 (pfc3... is the project name).

I searched the CCS User Guide for "x01" but there are no occurrences. Does this warning imply my hex file is not ready for prime time? Maybe that's why UniFlash froze up?

Please enable both GUI and DS logging for UniFlash and reproduce the issue. Then zip the generated logs and attach to this thread.

Yes. Launch the debugger via "manual launch"

Then manually connect to the target and use 'Run -> Load -> Load Program" and press "Browse..." to select your hex file to load.

Hello Ki. I enabled those logs and retried my download. It hung up in the same place. The GUI log file just says there was an error. I don't know how to open the DS log. Maybe it has better information.

I would like to attach the zipped log files, but I'm still figuring out how this forum works, and the first thing I notice is there is no Attach option. I tried the Insert->Link option, but it only offers a URL link. 

Can you tell me where I can find an option to attach a file.

The DS log typically has much more detailed information. Please zip it and attach it to this thread. Note that you can specify the path to where the DS log file gets generated.

You can simply drag and drop the file into the editor field.

Another option is to use the "Insert ->Image/video/file" option:

Can you provide the hex file? Also, what are the commands being passed to the hex utility? It should be in the build console.

Hello again Ki,

I'm attaching a zip file with 3 files. One is a screen snip of the hex utility window. I don't know how to find the details behind "CG_TOOL_HEX". Some sort of environment setting?

The other files are the .hex output you requested. I also included a file with .x01 extension. It was generated by the build, with a warning message that this extra file was being created.  I don't know if that's significant or not.

It doesn't look like you are using the recommended options for C2000. The engineering team analyzing your log suspected that. Did you see the last thread Ozino mentioned in his earlier thread?

You typically need at least --romwidth=16 for C2000:
