TMS320F28388D: The 56 ohm resistor between VDD and VSS.

Hi champs,

In data sheet, we say a single 56Ω resistor (10% tolerance) should be placed between VDD and VSS.

Is this mandatory if customers only use DSP in ACTIVE mode, not IDLE, STANDBY or any other low power modes?

Hi Luke,

Yes, 56 Ohm is a requirement for F28388x device during low power modes.

My question is that if customers don't use DSP in any low power modes, is that 56 ohm necessary?

Luke,

I dont think F2838x device can fully be operated in ACTIVE/OPERATIONAL mode alone.

You will atleast see a RESET condition which always brings C2000 to low power mode (or) can be seen during power ON to C2000 case. so, I would recommend to have the 56 ohms always for this device irrespective of power modes.
