TMS320F28388D: DSP to Twincat using port 0, twincat not picking up DSP

Part Number: TMS320F28388D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

I am trying to connect the DSP controller to Twincat. Everything is fine, the intel chipset is compatible, however, when I scan devices using the device tab in the Twincat project, I get scan boxes, which I say yes, receive no free run tab. A new Device 1 pops up, however, it does not pick up the slave DSP controller as specified in the Texas instrument tidm-delfino 379D reference guide, there are only three tabs ( image, input and outputs) , and no esc tab is present. I also checked the network and the ethernet adapter says the cable is unplugged, but it is not. It seems like the DSP is not live on port 0 but not sure why.

It would be great to solve this problem?

Yousef

  • Yousef,

A new Device 1 pops up

Device 1 implies that there is an error. Ideally, it should show up as Device 2.

Please use the software examples available in the C2000WARE installation directory below.

    C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_X_XX_00_00\libraries\communications\Ethercat\f2838x

Also see the SW User's Guide available in the \doc folder of this directory, as it will guide you through using F2838x EtherCAT and software. The document has step by step instructions, please take a look and in case despite following those, there is still a pertaining issue, please let us know and we will look into it.

    Thanks.
