Hi everybody

MCU runnig std alone out of flash and exectuing Boot in rom first

does the ROM boot takes care of RAM Init to 0x00 ?

or shoudl I init in my code to needed value ? in this case any compiler option to avoid writing a routine for this ?

Hi Carlo,

The boot ROM does so, but ideally for running an application it would be preferred that the application init it's own .data section.

To do this via the tools, please refer to the TI C2000 CGT documentation here: https://www.ti.com/tool/C2000-CGT and look for the BINIT section usage in the linker settings.

Hi Carlo,

I may have caused confusion here. The RAM clearing is done specific to Boot ROM's requirements and not for the entire RAM. The application needs to initialize the RAM sections it is using.
