SPI speed limitation..i need some help..

Hi,

I am using TMS320F2812 in my system with a SPI-based IC. This IC can work max 75Mbps SPI speed. F2812 SPI speed is limited such as given in the F2812 datasheet:

"Serial port performance is limited by I/O buffer switching speed. Internal prescalers must be adjusted such that the peripheral speed is less than the I/O buffer speed limit—20 MHz maximum."

So,because of my applicaiton requirement, i have to switch another Microcontroller or ARM or DSP platform for higher IO speed than F2812. Can you help to find platform for higher IO speed?

Hi again,

Can anybody help me about suggestion for platform which have highest IO speed? Because, there are lots of products in uC,ARM,DSP of ti. I need simple suggestion like for example "ARM series or C64x series has faster IO speed than other"..

Off the top of my head, the Stellaris and OMAPL devices are 50MHz SPI max.

Hi Chris,

thank you for your reply. After your reply, i have searched Stellaris,Sitara and OMAP devices and you are right max available SPI clock is 50MHz.
