TMS320F28377D: DSP cannot startup after power up again

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

Hi Expert,

 DSP can startup normally after program download, but will be failed at subsequent power up.

 Here is the CMD file. What is the problem?

  • There is a possibility that there are some initialized constants in RAM, which get loaded during flash programming but not during a cold power-up. Please examine your .map file, if this is the case. Also, take a look at this post.

  • Hi Hareesh,

    The post really helped me by Other related debug tips: 3.(b).

    There is a lot global variables in my project. but it will also be helpful to move ".cinit" to other FLASH section, FASHB to FLASHF for my case. FLASHB is also for section .TI.ramfunc, also i have other ram sections, dclfuncs and Cla1prog.

    Do you think it will be an alternative solution?

    FLASHB with .cinit

    FLASHB no .cinit

    GROUP
    {
    .TI.ramfunc : {}
    dclfuncs
    Cla1Prog
    }
    LOAD = FLASHB,
    RUN = RAMLS0 , //| RAMLS1
    LOAD_START(_RamfuncsLoadStart),
    LOAD_SIZE(_RamfuncsLoadSize),
    LOAD_END(_RamfuncsLoadEnd),
    RUN_START(_RamfuncsRunStart),
    RUN_SIZE(_RamfuncsRunSize),
    RUN_END(_RamfuncsRunEnd),
    PAGE = 0, ALIGN(8)

  • Hi,

    Yes , you can move the .cinit section to other Flash section.

    Best Regards

    Siddharth
