TMS320F280021: IEC60730-1 Class C compliance

Part Number: TMS320F280021
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Hi,

Is TMS320F280021 compliant for IEC60730-1 Class C certification. Is there any software library available to achieve the compliance.

  • We have a software diagnostic library for the F28002x in C2000Ware (under libraries/diagnostic) that can aid in implementing IEC60730 requirements. There's also a safety manual for F28002x here that describes the diagnostic features available on the device. Note that neither the device or library are certified themselves though.

My only concern with Class C on F28002x is that unlike some of our other devices, F28002x does not have a co-processor for implementing reciprocal comparison (like the CLA on F28003x devices) or a lockstep compare module (like the LCM on F280015x devices) to do a hardware comparison. Did you have some other method in mind for the CPU-related requirements on the F28002x?

  • I had a conversation today that reminded me of this thread, and so I wanted to come back and add that I had forgotten that F28002x has HWBIST, which can be used to periodically run a test on the CPU which should provide Class C capability.

  • Thanks Whitney. Your inputs will be very useful to us.

Incase we go with Class B certification, is there any library for F28001X MCUs as they look to be newly launched

  • The SDL will be updated with F280013x and F280015x support by the end of July.
