LAUNCHXL-F280049C: C2000 Academy Getting Started with C2000 Series

In the first tutorial in the C2000 academy, the instructions say to select CPU1_LaunchXL_RAM as the location for the build configuration. Can you clarify why this location is preferred over the other locations? Other location options are: CPU1_LaunchXL_FLASH, CPU1_RAM, and CPU1_FLASH.

Hello Aaron,

The CPU1_LaunchXL_RAM configuration is preferred when running a program from RAM (which is faster for programs because it has no wait states to access memory, and Flash is generally slower) on a LaunchPAD device; the CPU1_RAM and CPU1_FLASH are used for the ControlCARD.
