F28M35H52C: Heap memory usage and measurement

Hi,

1. We are using Sys\Bios and trying to reduce RAM memory usage,

we found that we have a substantial chunk of RAM memory allocated for the heap, the size of this memory is 10240,

following is the screenshot from the .cfg file.

is there a way to monitor the usage of this memory during runtime?

2. what is the purpose of the memory instances in the "Heapbuf" tab in the .cfg file?

Hello Peter,

I'm not familiar with Sys/Bios, but if you have an allocated amount of memory designated for the heap (which is something that you have created for your system), then the best way to monitor this would be to have a variable pointing to the proper index in the heap to indicate how much is allocated. I'm assuming the heap is acting like an array that you've created.

If the heap is actually part of the CPU itself and that's what you're trying to view the memory usage of, let me know.

I'll reassign this post to a Sys/Bios expert to see if they can help answer the second question.
